Transactional security also depends upon the precautions you observe, therefore it is best to follow these recommendations:

§        Be alert  of suspicious behavior. Banco Popular Dominicano won’t request your username or password at any time. Generally, confidential information shouldn’t be provided over e-mail, fax or disclosed through phone unless you are communicating through a secure session, initiated the contact or know the party with whom you are dealing.

§         Accessing data should be maintained on a strictly confidential level for, as account holder and user, you are responsible for all internally generated operations.

§         To create your username and password make combinations of letters and numbers with a minimum of eight (8) characters.

§         For passwords, discard using personal data (such as personal names, last names, phone numbers, I. D., age) or that of your relatives. Also avoid using relevant dates or numbers as well as repeating letters or numbers.

§         Modify your password periodically, it’s recommended to do this every thirty (30) days.

§         Keep your computer’s anti-virus software (i. e., Symantec, McAfee, Trend, AVG, etc.) updated.

§         Never leave your computer alone while on the transactional page. If you have to move away, close the secure session and the active web browser.

§         Review the time and date of the last electronic access to your account. Change your password if you suspect that someone has discovered it.
