Banco Popular Dominicano has designed a sophisticated technological arquitecture comprised of several mechanisms which, combined, protect your information and prevent system intrusions. These are:

User Name

Is a unique and viewable name created by you, the account holder, with the purposes of login in the system. It is formed out of letters, numbers or a combination of both.

Password

Is a secret series of characters that, as if an entrance key, assures privacy and enables access to your account. It is also made out of letters, numbers or a combination of both.

Blocked Identity

After three (3) unsuccessful logins (inability to correctly identify your username and password) the system will block complete access to your account. To re-establish electronic access call 544.5555, from Santo Domingo, or 1.200.5555, free of charge,  from the rest of the country.

Expired Session

In the transactional page, the secure session will automatically disconnect after a period of three (3) minutes of inactivity.

Firewall

Are hardware designed to protect the integrity of the information flow generated whenever you register, request information or perform any financial transaction, thus intercepting and preventing filtered data.

Secure Socket Layer (=SSL)

Is a high security zone, offered by the server hosting the bank’s webpage, in which to perform commercial transactions with a 128-bits encryption code capability that ensures privacy for all data transmissions.

Digital Security Certificate

Banco Popular Dominicano utilizes VeriSign as its encryption service provider in order to meet authentication and certification requirements for electronic transactions. The 128-bits encryption code is completed when the lock icon appears on the bottom right bar of your monitor.

Network Intrusion Detection System (=NIDS)

These softwares work as sentinels that are installed in the servers to prevent attacks, intrusions or unauthorized access attempts. They’re periodically updated in order to maintain protection standards.

Monitoring Center

Through a system that operates twenty four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week, a devoted team is guarding for all alerts, unauthorized access attempts, attacks and other suspicious activities.
