During the month of March, Banco Popular sponsored a presentation of visual arts at the Museo de Arte Moderno (Museum of Modern Art) entitled Tesoros de Arte del Banco Popular (Treasures of Arts of Banco Popular), comprising works from the bank’s private collection.
During the opening act of the presentation, the book “Prats-Ventós (1925-1999)”, written by historian and art critic María Ugarte, went up for sale. The book describes the life and work of prominent sculptor and painter Antonio Prats-Ventós. This book was published under the auspices of Banco Popular.
During the presentation, Banco Popular also put on sale the book “Tesoros de Arte del Banco Popular Dominicano” (Art treasures of Banco Popular Dominicano), written by historian and art critic Jeannette Miller.
This volume, also sponsored by the financial institution, is a compilation and a commentary on a representative selection of the bank’s private collection.
Banco Popular’s art gallery has more than one thousand works of art, including paintings, sculptures and Photographs of the youngest and most acclaimed artists of the country, treasured for more than four decades as a demonstration of commitment from the bank to national artists.
