POPULAR INAUGURATES AN OFFICE AT LICEY AL MEDIO
Banco Popular inaugurated an office at Licey al Medio (a community located in the north west of the country) thus enlarging this financial institution’s web of offices. The central speaker for the evening, Mr. Tamayo Belliard, Vicepresident of Retail Banking for Santiago and the North East, stressed the fact that Popular has forty branches in the northern region of the country, “something that reflects its acceptance and high clientele satisfaction among you, our clients”.
He also mentioned the close relationship between representatives of the financial organization and the community. “This community’s intense stockbreeding, especially poultry and porcine production, commercial dynamism, entrepreneurial spirit and hard working ethics make it an adequate place to offer Popular’s banking services”. The inauguration of this office is part of Popular’s expansion plan in the country’s territory which, for the beginning of 2003, contemplates establishing our presence in numerous communities, forty of those in the Northern Region (known also as El Cibao) and well over 160 throughout the country.
To this end, Mr. Belliard stated: “Opening new and modern branches has a clear purpose, that of contributing to the nation’s development through offering financial services that enable us to satisfy the needs of our clients”. He also said that Banco Popular’s expansion is part of a program that increases its distribution channels. As of April 2003 Banco Popular offers its services through over 160 offices, more than 350 automatic tellers, internet banking, and mobile banking.
