BANCO POPULAR’S III GOLF TOURNAMENT REWARDS SPORTSMEN RESULTS

Banco Popular organized a golf tournament aimed at building camaraderie and close relationships among clients and executives of this financial institution.

The golf tournament took place at Campo Nacional Las Lagunas where some two hundred people participated.  José Tomás Contreras and Mario Álvarez won as best couple with the best score overall, 63.

Héctor Then (that’s a last name, not a conjunction) and César Méndez, with 62 shots won the best net score in classification A. Ricardo Bonetti and José Miguel Bonetti, and Fernando Rodríguez and Enrique Ackerman were the winners of the second and third places respectively.

In the next classification, B, Roberto Pellicione and Luis José Medina held the first position with a score of 53, followed closely by Jorge Herrera and Rafael Holguín (54, second place) and Rafael Zapata and José Ramón Prats (56).

The winners in class C were Pedro Pérez and Yuri Ruiz (53). Second and third places were allotted comparing cards for both Erich Czarlisnky and Mauro Santos (second place) and Enriquillo Beato and Numitor Agramonte (third place) earned a score of 54.

Women’s class had fewer competitors and thus only one handicap condition.  The duo of Olga de Vargas and Emma Carvajal was the absolute winner.

All the scores and classifications were certified by the Dominican Golf Federation, FEDOGOLF, using the rules of the United Golf Association (USGA) and the Ancient Golf Club of Saint Andrews.

Héctor Then, one of the winners, thanked Banco Popular for its collaboration with the clients and proposed that this type of sports activity was repeated more often.

At the end of the day, all participants enjoyed a live show by local artists. The closing comments were made by Christopher Paniagua, Executive Vice president for Entrepreneurial and International Business who stressed his interest in adopting these tournaments as part of the traditional bank activities and invited sportsmen to do the same.
