Banco Popular inaugurated a new branch office in Boca Chica, a community in which our bank first established its services eighteen years ago, during Boca Chica’s economic boom.

Mr. Alejandro Santelises, Executive Vice President of Personal Banking and Branch Offices, emphasized the positive performance obtained by the office since it began operating in the beginning of the year.

To that end, Mr. Santelises highlighted that the new branch office of Boca Chica received the best credentials in respect to other branch offices of the area.  He explained that this great endorsement is due to the target audience the branch office services to. The audience is composed of mainly small businesses, which have been very receptive to our products, placing large volume deposits, exchanging foreign currency and opening certificates of deposit.

Banco Popular supports the tourism sector through various ways. Together with the well-known Spanish financial organization Caja de Ahorros de Valencia, Castellón y Alicante (BANCAJA), we maintain an ongoing strategic alliance committed to promote tourism activities and projects. Mr. Santelises stated that several months ago Banco Popular donated to the Tourism Police (Politur) the equipment corresponding to the first team of the Politur Aquatic Unit, to provide security services on the beaches of the country’s east coast area. This donation, consisting of one 22-feet long fiberglass patrol boat and four jet-skis with a four-cylinder, 140 horsepower engine, attempts to motivate other businessmen in the tourism area to back up the patrol and civic protection work performed by Politur, by donating more equipments. 

Aside from these commitments, during the inauguration of the new branch, our institution donated funds to a retiree home of the area, directed by Sor Carmen Vaquero, a Carmelite nun.

The branch office of Boca Chica, offers a specialized service to the client providing savings and business accounts in euros. Among other benefits, the accounts in euros obtain a monthly payment of interests and allow opening certificates of deposits of the same. With a team of experienced personnel, such products are easily obtained from this office. Likewise, transactions and balances of the same can easily be consulted via telephone or Internet Banking from anywhere in the country and abroad.

The new branch office counts with an experienced team of sales and customer service personnel under the responsibility of the Business Manager, Ms. Ana Mazara. Its operating hours are from Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  In addition, this new location counts with an automated teller machine with operating service of 24 hours 7 days a week.

Father Guarionex  Pérez Hernández, of the parish San Rafael Arcángel, gave his blessing to the new location. 

The event attendees included celebrities, clients and high executives from Banco Popular.
