POPULAR  PRESENTS El MILAGRO DE LA NAVIDAD

 

Banco Popular presents El Milagro de La Navidad, an annual holiday event staged on Sundays twelfth, nineteenth and twenty third of December, at 7:30 p.m., at the esplanade of Popular’s headquarters, at the intersection of avenues John F. Kennedy and Máximo Gómez.   Every year, hundreds of children and grown ups enjoy this Christmas celebration.

 

El Milagro de La Navidad is a theatrical and musical performance hosted by Popular Bank and traditionally presented during Christmas time as a gift to all Dominican families.  This show that recreates the birth of Jesus, is based on script and directed by the well-known Dominican play writer Iván García.  It is interpreted by employees from the financial institution.  During the performance, 43 actors and 30 singers participate.  "I believe in the message that is portrayed in the play.  Any man can be Jesus, any woman can see herself in Maria and each boy who is born can be a blessed child, bringing peace, faith and love ", says Iván García referring to his inspiration when writing this piece. 

 

For thirteen consecutive years, Popular has been giving this spiritual gift for children and adults to enjoy, as a way to stimulate family union, love and good will.

 

 The colors of the actor’s costumes have been chosen to reflect the human warmth of Christmas.  Every year, different stage scenes are integrated to surprise the attendees’ of this Christmas performance.  This show starts with the drink of a traditional ginger tea and closes with spectacular fireworks.
